Sheer Drama ‘Excellent’

GI Personal Ensign S. winner Sheer Drama (Burning Roma) has come out of Saturday’s win well and will train up to her start in the GI Breeders’ Cup Distaff. She’s excellent. She ate her whole dinner up, and she looked great,” trainer David Fawkes said. “She’s traveling really, really good.”

Fawkes noted that he’ll keep Sheer Drama in Florida until the Breeders’ Cup.

“We’ll just stay home,” he said. “The weather’s good, she likes the track. We train her early in the morning so the [hot] weather doesn’t affect her at all. We’ll give her a little freshening. She’s had a hard campaign. She hasn’t danced every dance, but she’s been at quite a few dances and she’s traveled in between. She’s a good traveler, but still it takes its toll a little bit. [Sheer Drama] just beat two of the better fillies in the country. Stopchargingmaria was 3-2 for a reason. She’s a very nice horse, and my filly handled her pretty well. Granted, they were both softened up a little bit, but that’s racing. Beholder, it seems so far that she needs her track. I hope I’m right.”
